Once upon a time, WEMF 2011 happened. It was an incredible weekend, made all the better by the fact that we met three awesome girls who knew their music as well as we did. We’ve kept in contact since then, so it amazes me that it took this long for us to think of this idea…
Some of you may remember a few months ago we casually asked for some feedback from you guys about the site. The general consensus was that you all much prefer our creme de la creme style of posting, but would like it if we could get at least one post a day. Bringing in some new bloggers seemed like the natural solution. Around the same time that it clicked in my mind that the three WEMF girls would be perfect candidates for new bloggers, one of them messaged me asking if we needed any help with the site. And the rest was history.
Ladies and gentleman, allow me to introduce to you Track Monster’s three newest bloggers: MeowMix, DrFeelGood, and hipsterAriel! Not only do these girls know their good music, they are also fiends of dubstep, drum n bass, and moombahton, which’ll help bring more of these sub-genres of electronic music to the site. We decided to ask each of them three questions, one of which is a round of EDM-themed Fuck, Chuck or Marry (thanks to liv for the idea!). 1. If you had to describe electronic music in three words, what would they be?
There are so many words that could describe electronic music but most of them are just trendy and overused. I don’t want to say like “filthy” or whatever because EDM is such a wide genre with so many sub-genres, it is almost impossible to describe everything in three words. When people ask me about the type of music I like and why I like it, I say mainly because it gets you, if that makes any sense. Electronic music is an acquired taste, which is why some people don’t understand it. This is the music of our generation and of future generations. Those who know and love electronic music gain in some sense a devotion or passion for the music. For me, EDM lets me see the stars.
2. Seeing as you’re clearly an expert on cats and electronic music, I’ve always wondered…if a wild cat were to listen to Porter Robinson’s The Wildcat, what would happen?

3. Time for a quick round of EDM-themed Fuck, Chuck or Marry! Here are your choices: Dillon Francis, Zedd, Porter Robinson.
I would marry Dillon Francis because he’s hilarious and I love a man who can keep me laughing. I would fuck Zedd because I’m a sucker for his green eyes but he has a girlfriend. And I would chuck Porter…nothing against him at all but unfortunately he lost by default.

1. If you could only attend one more show in your life, what artist would it be?
I would see Excision because I haven’t had the opportunity to see him yet and I have always wanted to. He’s one of my favorite dj’s and I don’t think anything could compare to Rex’s dirty bass. It would be hard enough to satisfy me forever.
2. Seeing as you’re a doctor and all, if you were to prescribe a song to a patient who needed to ‘feel good’, what would it be?
In order to feel good you need to let loose, dance and party hard. I think a classic would be the best remedy. Cutline’s remix of Tonight by Danny Byrd and Netsky should do the trick!

Chuck Steve Aoki because I think he’s obnoxious. Fuck Skrillex because I would marry Bassnectar in a heartbeat. Not only do I love the long hair, although he could use a trim! But I like to think of myself as somewhat of a hippie just like him.

1. If all the mp3 players in the world were hacked so that they could only fit three songs, what three songs would be on yours?
Ahhhh this is such a hard question and only three?? I have so many favourite songs from classics to EDM grr. How about top 5.. if I had to choose:
1. Kings Of Leon – Fans; probably my all-time favourite band
2. Neverending White Lights – The Grace; such a beautiful song
3. Sublime – Santeria; just awesome
4. DJ Fresh – Hot Right Now (Krooked remix); obsessed with this song
5. Bar 9 – Midnight; old but still one of my favs
2. hipsterAriel walks in a bar and hears three airheaded girls yelling loudly, claiming that David Guetta is the greatest DJ in the world and that dubstep isn’t real music. What does she say/do?
Well, seeing as hipsterAriel does have a fiery temper, especially when it comes to her passion about EDM and dubstep…depending on her intoxication level, she would probably march over there and chirp the shit out of them if she was really drunk (probably get kicked out of the bar) or just yell back, telling them they should take their lame-ass music somewhere else. Either way, will definitely say something to people who don’t listen to good music and insist on bragging it to the world.
3. Fuck, chuck, or marry: Diplo, Calvin Harris, Leighton from Adventure Club.
fuck: Diplo OBVIOUSLY, he’s so fucking hot that’s not even a question. Who could resist his cali-boy look and amazing bod?
chuck: Probably Calvin Harris because even though he’s awesome, he’s too mainstream now and that’s a turn off..
marry: Definitely Leighton from Adventure Club because he’s beautiful and pretty sure I shook his hand at an event in frosh week and now I’m in love so… enough said.
